Technical Notes
RF devices used with the Stream V Warehouse Management System are programmed using the same programming language as workstation and terminal based Stream V programs. This allows for the uniform use of function keys and commands.

Each RF device operates as a terminal, running an integrated terminal emulator with a full keyboard and 80 x 24 virtual screen displayed on a 14 line by 20 character wide display. The Warehouse Management System (WMS) only uses the 14 by 20 visible part of the screen for operator interaction. For speed of use the keyboard is restricted to entries that can be made using only one hand.

When the RF Device is turned on and the user has logged in the RF Menu is displayed. The menu displays the operators initials and the warehouse they are logged into.

Programs are normally called from the menu by scanning a bar code menu provided to the operator. This menu is often laminated to the carts used in the warehouse. The operator my view a list of the commands available to them by press the F1 key. While in each of the programs the F1 key is available to display a list of the commands recognized by the program.
