FairCom's robust database Server provides many additional features over SQL only based servers. These features offer significant throughput enhancements by reducing network traffic and providing advanced, re-entrant multi-threading. FairCom's client/server implementation supports heterogeneous networks and lets dissimilar clients concurrently attach to any Server. This allows our Stream application to easily migrate to any of over 25 other platforms. The Faircom Server also provides the following multi-user features:

Cove Server Driver

Cove Systems markets the Faircom Server and has developed the Cove Dataflex Driver for the Faircom Server. Cove Systems, Inc., undertook the development effort to connect the DataFlex fourth generation language from Data Access Corporation to the FairCom Server by FairCom Corporation. We arrived at the selection of the FairCom Server based on the record orientation of both DataFlex and the FairCom and the flexibility of creating server clients on any platform where we might have DataFlex applications running. We also were quite pleased by the wide range of platforms where the server itself may be executed. This initial release includes SCO Unix, Microsoft WindowsNT 4.0 and Windows 95/98 clients, and Microsoft; WindowsNT 4.0 servers. We will add additional client and server platforms as demand dictates. |
